The PowerBlock: The Best Dumbbells Around

PowerBlocks are arguably the worlds best dumbbells. They offer a lot of things that normal dumbbells do not offer, especially if you are thinking of buying dumbbells for home use.

The reasons the PowerBlock is the best dumbbell on the market are listed below:

The PowerBlock is Perfectly Balanced
PowerBlocks are very well balanced. I tried them out and I was very impressed by what I discovered. When I lifted the dumbbells, I was surprised by how comfortable the grips were , as well as how balanced they felt. I personally do not consider myself a big free-weight lifter, but I instantly knew that these dumbbells would be perfect for home purchase, first and foremost because they felt more balanced then other dumbbells I had tried out in the past, including dumbbells at high-end gyms.

Quick Change Weight with PowerBlocks
One of the greatest things about PowerBlock dumbbells is the ease with which you can change the weight. You simply take out the pin and move it to the setting, or weight that you want to use next. I was hooked on the PowerBlock dumbbells after I realized how easy it was to change the weight.

Micro-Loading: The PowerBlock Difference This is a great example of the PowerBlocks ability to be very specific to your workout needs. Basically, you can slip in 2 and 1/2 pound adder weights into the PowerBlock system if adding the 5 pound increments is too much for specific workouts.

Cost Savings on PowerBlocks
Entry level hex head dumbbells can run for as much as 99 cents a pound, while the PowerBlock dumbbells run at about 18 cents a pound. No matter which way you slice it, you cannot ignore the obvious cost savings if you decide to purchase a set of PowerBlock dumbbells.

Replace your Old Dumbbells with PowerBlocks
The PowerBlock dumbbells, due to their easy to use weight setting that is included in the one set of dumbbells, will actually replace the purchase of 37 pairs of traditional dumbbells. This of course is to say that you would buy 37 pair of dumbbells which no one would do, but I think it shows the versatility of the PowerBlock dumbbells and the amount of storage space they take up, which is next to none compared to traditional dumbbells.

Storage Space is Easy with PowerBlocks
PowerBlock dumbbells take up very little space. The stand, which is a nice feature, as it holds the PowerBlocks in place when not in use, does not come with the PowerBlock set, but that is not a concern of mine, as I would prefer to hide them in my closet when not in use anyway. They can fit into an 18 inch by 22 inch space, which is pretty impressive by my standards.

PowerBlock Makes Expansion Simple
If you purchase the smaller base set, which comes with 50 pounds per dumbbell, you can actually expand to 130 pounds per dumbbell later on. This means that if you get to a level when 50 pounds per dumbbell just is not enough, you can always take it to the next level with the expansion set.

Conclusion: Why PowerBlock Dumbbells Should be Taken Seriously
If you are serious about free weight-training from home, purchasing the PowerBlock dumbbell set is sort of a no-brainer. As far as space savings are concerned, it is certainly the way to go, and the ease at which you can change weights, and expand the set later on down the line is a very nice addition. If you only workout with free-weights once a week, you may consider trips to the gym a better alternative for the cost. Personally, I think the PowerBlocks are worth every penny and I have not regretted purchasing them even though I do not do intense free-weight training.
